Appgate, the secure access company, today announced the appointment of Jawahar Sivasankaran as its new President and Chief Operating Officer (COO). Sivasankaran will lead the company’s growth strategy and oversee all go-to-market business operations, including sales, marketing, professional services and customer success. Sivasankaran will report to Appgate CEO Barry Field.

With more than 23 years of experience in cybersecurity sales and technology, Sivasankaran brings with him a wealth of relevant experience in Zero Trust and a proven track record of transformative leadership in large security businesses, with a focus on scaling SaaS-based offerings.

Prior to joining Appgate, Sivasankaran led global security sales at Splunk, provider of the Data-to-Everything Platform, with strong leadership in the security market. He drew on his experience in sales, consulting, business development and products to drive growth for the company’s security business. Before his Splunk tenure, Sivasankaran held various senior positions at security giant Cisco. There he was responsible for leading global sales and business development for the security business through managed security providers, strategic partners, and global alliances. His previous roles in Cisco security sales include serving as the global Field CTO for the $2B+ security business and leading global GTM strategy and business development. At Cisco, he also held strong consulting, product and technical leadership roles, including serving as a Distinguished Engineer.
