A new ransomware attack was launched this quarter, bringing the total number of ransomware-related bugs to 278. That is a 4.5 percent increase over Q2, according to researchers.
Five new bugs can be used to achieve remote coding (RCE), while two can be used to exploit web applications and launch denial-of-service (DoS) attacks. That is not good news, but it is especially true that the quarter saw DoS (DDoS) records being distributed, according to a separate study.
News about the new dangers posed by ransomware workers comes from Ivanti’s Q3 2021 report on the ransomware index spotlight, published Tuesday and conducted by Cyber Security Works and Cyware.
