2,700 victims rescued from cybercrime syndicates in the Philippines.

The Philippine police, supported by commandos, conducted a significant operation on Tuesday, rescuing more than 2,700 workers from various countries, including China, the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, and several others.

These individuals were allegedly deceived into working for fraudulent online gaming platforms and other cybercrime organizations. The raid carried out during the night in Las Pinas City within metropolitan Manila, involved seven buildings and marked the largest operation of its kind this year. It highlighted the Philippines’ increasing role as a crucial hub for cybercrime syndicates.

The prevalence of cybercrime scams in Asia has become a significant concern, as individuals from the region and other parts of the world are enticed into employment opportunities in countries such as Myanmar and Cambodia, facing internal conflicts.
