In a major breach of privacy, personal data of around 533 million Facebook users from around 106 countries were leaked online and posted for free on multiple low-level hacking forums. The leaked data includes personal information like their phone numbers, full names, Facebook IDs, birthdates, locations, bios, and email addresses.
Alon Gal, CTO of Hudson Rock, who first discovered the entire trough of leaked data online, says that even though the leaked data is a couple of years old, it could provide valuable information to threat actors who use user’s personal information to scam them into handing over login credentials.
