Comparitech, a technology research company has recently announced that its researchers discovered a cybersecurity agency that has exposed a huge database, holding more than 5 billion user records.
A detailed investigation discovered that it stored information that was compromised in data breaches – suffered by various companies over the past years. The record has been utilized by Cognyte, a security analytics company to alert consumers when their personal information is exposed.
It happened due to a breach suffered by the third party agent. The data seems to come from around two dozen data leaks and breaches disclosed – which includes from Rambler, MySpace, Tumblr, Edmodo, VK, MGM, iMesh, and Zoosk.
