The global IT consultancy, Accenture, confirmed that a data breach has occurred on its systems by LockBit ransomware operators. The statement about the report has been confirmed with the company’s financial report for the fourth quarter and full fiscal year, ending on Aug 31, 2021.
According to the LockBit ransomware gang, they have stolen six terabytes of data from the network of Accenture and demanded the US $ 50 million. A few reports suggest that Accenture confirmed the ransomware attack with at least one cyber threat intelligence vendor.
Outside SEC filings or data breach notification letters with relevant authorities, Accenture hasn’t acknowledged the data breach.
