Google recently introduced new security capabilities for Google Workspace and Google Drive, aimed at ensuring data security and privacy in hybrid workplaces.
Client-side encryption for Workspace and many increased data protection measures in the platform’s Drive service are among the new security tools including more granular trust rule control, improved phishing, and malware security, and integrated data loss prevention (DLP) in Drive labels are among the new features.
Karthik Lakshminarayanan, Google’s director of product management, said that the new security capabilities in the search giant’s workplace collaboration platform were the consequence of a number of factors, including Google’s “security first” mindset.
