U.S. healthcare provider AspenPointe, one of the leading U.S. healthcare providers, sent a notification to patients informing them about a data breach stemmed from a September 2020 cyber-attack. It enables the attackers to steal protected health information (PHI) as well as their personally identifiable information (PII).

The company has only recently discovered unauthorized access to its network that occurred in between September 12 to September 22, 2020. The healthcare organization has also said that it hired an external security expert to investigate the incident and find to what extent the information compromise has affected its network.
