A1 Telekom struggled for over 6 months to eliminate the hackers from its network. The Austrian ISP company admitted security breaching after a whistle-blower’s expose. The company had identified the security breach after a month and had struggled to remove the malware. A1 has refused to disclose the malware’s nature and the intention of the cybercrime group or nation-state hacking gang.
Only the office network computers were affected by the malware and not the complete IT network.
As per the statement from the ISP, organization attackers managed to gain access to certain databases and had tried to understand the internal network.
