Nearly nine months after discovering that one of its servers had been backdoored with Sunburst malware, Autodesk revealed that it was also targeted by the Russian state hackers behind the large-scale SolarWinds Orion supply-chain attack.
CAD (computer-aided design), drafting, and 3D modeling tools are provided by the US software and services corporation to millions of users in the engineering, design, and construction industries.
According to Autodesk’s recent 10-Q SEC filing, the business discovered a compromised SolarWinds server and quickly took efforts to control and address the events. While the business believes that this attack had no impact on client operations or Autodesk products, other similar attacks could have a substantial detrimental impact.
