Managed detection and response provider Binary Defense announced it has raised US$ 36 million in its first funding round, which was led by Invictus Growth Partners.
Binary Defense was bootstrapped in the past. The Stow, Ohio-based company was established in 2014 to assist businesses in real-time monitoring, detection, and response to cyber-attacks. The business has adopted a Managed Open XDR model and provides a SOC-as-a-Service solution for businesses lacking the resources necessary to set up an internal security operations center. This model retrieves detections from endpoints, networks, and the cloud (SOC).
In addition to accelerating sales and marketing, growing partnerships, investing in machine learning, and advancing the development of its Managed Open XDR offering, Binary Defense says it intends to use the funding.
