Romanian cybersecurity organization Bitdefender has announced the launch of a free tool to help victims of the Darkside ransomware attacks. They will be able to recover the encrypted data for free without being forced to pay the ransom. The new tool is available for free download on the website of the cybersecurity firm. This solution provides hope to companies who had lost their sensitive data in one of the most sophisticated ransomware attacks worldwide.
Darkside group is known to use the Ransomware as a Service model to attack enterprises by collaborating with other cybercriminal groups.
