Customers have begun receiving notifications from businesses impacted by the recent Mailchimp data breach.
The Solana Foundation, Yuga Labs, FanDuel, and WooCommerce are on the list. Mailchimp, a marketing automation platform, recently disclosed that on January 11, its security team discovered unauthorized access to one of its tools. The company’s customer-facing teams use the tool for account management and support.
According to Mailchimp, the hacker used a social engineering attack to target employees and contractors and used stolen employee credentials to access some Mailchimp accounts. Mailchimp informed impacted customers and suspended access for the targeted accounts in response to the breach.
