The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have discovered continued cyberattacks by advanced persistent threat (APT) actors targeting the United States think tanks.
According to the FBI, the threat actors are looking to steal sensitive information, user credentials to gain continued access to victim networks. This persistent malicious activity mostly targets individuals and organizations connected to international affairs or focuses on national security policy.

FBI and CISA have also provided a list of techniques and procedures employed by the threat actors targeting U.S. think tanks, along with mitigation recommendations and information on how organizations can strengthen their security.
