Cisco is intensifying its efforts in cybersecurity through the latest addition to its acquisition spree. The company announced its plans to acquire Oort, a startup that sells software in the Identity Threat Detection and Response (ITDR) field.
The financial details of the agreement have not been disclosed. Oort, headquartered in Boston, has secured over $18 million in venture capital funding and already has Cisco as one of its early-stage strategic investors.
Cisco intends to integrate Oort’s technology into its product lineup, including the Duo Identity Access Management (IAM) technology and Extended Detection and Response (XDR) offerings. The goal is to enhance the security of the identity perimeter by bringing the Oort team on board as part of Cisco’s Security Business Group.
