FINRA or the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority has issued an advisory on its website warning businesses about an on-going phishing email scheme. The phishing email includes digital fraudsters posing as FINRA officers, requesting sensitive data.
New FBI and CISA Report Exposes Most Common Cyber Threats to US Enterprises
All phishing emails have originated from “broker-finra.org”, and include authority figures in their message including the likes of Josh Drobnuk, and Bill Wollman. In a different variant of the emails, fraudsters have attached infected attachments and links to direct users to phishing websites. These attacks have also aimed to steal SharePoint, or Microsoft Office passwords.
