Washington-based real estate giant Expeditors International announced the disruption of its global operations due to a cyber-attack on Sunday. The Fortune 500 company said it had shut down most of its operating systems, and in a review released on Monday we informed customers that its operations were still disrupted.
“While our systems are closed we will have limited capacity to carry out operations, including but not limited to arranging shipments or managing customs and distributing items shipped by our customers,” the company said. The company described it as a “target cyberattack,” but did not go into detail. Based on its brief description of the incident, it may be a ransomware attack.
