Cybercriminals Impersonate Google to Target Remote Workers

The latest report by Barracuda Networks tracks that between January 1 and April 30, 2020,
Google storage and file sharing websites and brand names were used in about 65% of nearly 100,000 form-based attacks, mounting up 4% of all spear-phishing attacks in the very first quarter of 2020.

The attackers leverage different brand names of Google services to trick their victims and
drive.google.com (4%), storage.cloud.google.com (13%), docs.google.com (23%), and
storage.googleapis.com (25%). Hackers have been using different phishing campaigns to take advantage of the current COVID-19 crisis to distribute steal credentials, malware, and scam users and organizations out of money.
