The company told Security Week that the attack is thought to have been carried out by “organized crime.” “Affected areas currently include some of ThyssenKrupp’s Corporate and Materials Services divisions. At this time, it is possible to rule out any impact on the other business segments and divisions, according to a ThyssenKrupp Materials Services spokesperson.

The same statement claims that the IT security team of the business quickly identified the incident and stopped the attackers from doing any damage.
