Keenan & Associates, an insurance consulting and brokerage firm, has informed more than 1.5 million people that their personal information was taken during a hack in August 2023.
According to a statement posted on the company’s website, the vulnerability was detected on August 27 when outages occurred on several of its systems and was resolved within hours. Keenan’s cyberattack investigation found that “an unauthorized party gained access to certain Keenan internal systems at various times between approximately August 21, 2023 and August 27, 2023.”
During that time, the attackers stole some data from the company’s computers, including personal information that Keenan had obtained and used to provide services to its customers.
