Point32Health, a health insurer in Massachusetts, Identified a ransomware attack on April 17 and initially disclosed it on April 20. Point32Health’s HMO/HMO-POS systems were impacted by the attack, resulting in leakage of both current and former health plan subscribers’ data.
The data contains names, addresses, birth dates, phone numbers, health insurance account information, Social Security numbers, taxpayer identification numbers, and clinical information, including treatment details, diagnoses, and medical history. The company stated that it plans to start sending written letters to the impacted customers by June 15.
