Elbit Systems of America, a subsidiary of the Israeli defense conglomerate Elbit Systems, has confirmed a data breach, several months after a ransomware group claimed to have hacked the company’s systems. The company offers solutions for law enforcement, medical instrumentation, commercial aviation, homeland security, and defense.
Elbit stated in a notification sent to impacted clients on its behalf by a law firm that it learned of the breach after observing unusual activity on its network. The network was immediately terminated, and security measures were implemented.
The attacker may have obtained information belonging to specific employees, including name, address, social security number, date of birth, direct deposit information, and ethnicity, according to an investigation supported by a cybersecurity company.
