Security solutions at work in most enterprises today are not adequate to protect data, and keep it secure form being sold on the Dark web.
The 2021 edition of Bitglass’s “Where’s Your Data?” report, used dummy Ids to study how data gets stolen and its journey to the dark web. Links to the phony data were pasted on the Dark Web, and the movement from there was tracked with the help of watermarking technology embedded in the files.
Some interesting facts came up when this tracing was done, about the speed of data movement on the net and the kind of buyers it attracted.
