ESO Solutions has initiated the notification process for 2.7 million individuals, informing them that a ransomware attack has compromised their personal and health information.
The company, which provides data and software to hospitals, emergency responders, and state and federal agencies, was forced to take systems offline to contain the incident, which happened on September 28.
In an incident notice posted on its website, the company claims that the attackers gained access to and encrypted some of its internal systems, which it was able to safely restore using backups.
