FluBot, a piece of mobile malware that targets both Android and iOS devices and spreads quickly via SMS texts, has been taken down by Europol today.
The spyware, also known as FedEx Banker and Cabassous, has been present since late 2020, primarily targeting European customers, but with attacks also being reported in the United States, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, and other countries.
Initially, the spyware was only discovered on Android smartphones, but recent attacks have now been seen on iOS devices. As part of these massive attacks, security researchers have reported seeing tens of thousands of SMS messages delivered hourly.
