FireEye, the cybersecurity firm based in the US, has recently noted that foreign government hackers broke into its network. Some of its critical tools are missing that were in use to probe the defenses of the customers – including federal, local, and state governments and prominent global corporations.
The company believes the attackers mainly sought information related to specific government customers. However, there was no sign that they got customer data from its consulting or breach-response businesses.

No leaders from FireEye said when exactly they detected this hack and who could be held responsible. However, many professionals in the cybersecurity landscape suspect Russia.
