On Thursday, Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google, committed USD 20 million in donations to enhance and enlarge the Consortium of Cybersecurity Clinics. This initiative aims to introduce numerous students to possible opportunities in the field of cybersecurity while also providing support in defending small government offices, rural hospitals, and nonprofits from hacking incidents.
Pichai emphasized that this new undertaking tackles two major challenges: the increasing number of cyberattacks, which rose by 38% globally in 2022, and the shortage of qualified individuals trained to combat them.
