Google announced the availability of the first Android 14 developer preview and outlined some of the security and privacy enhancements the platform update will include.
According to Google, Android 14 will bring new features and APIs as well as potential behavioral changes that may affect applications when it launches on devices in the fall. The developer preview’s goal is to educate application developers on these changes and assist them in testing their programs for compatibility issues.
The company said that one of the runtime receiver-related security improvements that the platform update is expected to bring builds on changes made in Android 13.
