Google estimated that CryptBot malware had infected approximately 670,000 systems last year.
Google filed a legal objection in the Southern District of New York to disrupt the operation. A judge has authorized the internet behemoth to take legal action against the named distributors under a temporary restraining order.
With the new court order in hand, Google can remove any domains currently or in the future disseminating CryptBot, which is anticipated to reduce the infection rates of the info stealer.
