Google has recently announced that it is taking active actions against malicious and misleading notifications in the Chrome browser. It will be done with the release of Chrome version 84, scheduled on July 14.
The tech giant believes such notifications could be functional for different types of services. However, many websites misuse them to mislead users, send malware, and attack on the information. Thus, it classifies those notifications as permission request issues.
Google Chrome 84 will show alerts informing that a notification has been blocked as it could be tricky. Users may see the blocked notification by clicking the ‘Allow’ button.
