Ransomware group with ties to Russia-based Evil Corp, Grief, has claimed that it has stolen data from the gun-rights group NRA and has posted the files on its dark web site.
The Grief ransomware gang has listed the NRA as the victim of its malicious activity in its data leak. Brett Callow, a threat analyst for online security company Emsisoft, posted a screenshot of Grief’s post on his Twitter account.
Grief is linked to the infamous Russian cybercrime organization Evil Corp and has recently emerged as a growing ransomware threat. The NRA has decided to remain mum on Grief’s claims and asserted that it “does not discuss matters relating to its physical or electronic security.”
