According to Imperva Research Labs, improved bot traffic times in retail stores in November added an alarming 73 percent last month, and there are no signs that activity is declining, even though Black Friday and Cyber Monday have come and gone.
Among the data, Imperva found that bot traffic continued to rise a week after Cyber Monday this year, growing by 8 percent from last week; and that is after traffic has already increased by 48 percent between Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday.
Internet marketers continue to use controls to eliminate Christmas hate traffic, and bot operators continue to find ways to escape. Some take broad steps to address the underlying cause, starting with the setting up of fraudulent email accounts.
