A clandestine group of hacktivists has destroyed DNS records of many Sri Lankan websites and redirected users to a web page displaying numerous social issues influencing the residents.
Apart from the affected domains for local businesses and news sites, two high-profile domains for Google.lk and Oracle.lk, were also impacted.
Along with the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka, various users tweeted about it though it was active for only a few moments.
This is the second cyber-security-related incident after 2013 where hacktivists used an SQL injection attack to violate its database and steal data about .lk domain owners.
