IBM has recently announced the accessibility of its open-source toolkits that will allow the
processing of data – while it is encrypted. The toolkits can execute fully homomorphic
encryption (FHE) that lets the encrypted data processing without providing the actual data
access. They are now available for macOS and iOS, and the tech giant is also working for
Android and Linux.
As per IBM, with the advances of the algorithm, FHE has reached an inflection level where the performance is practical. It has revolutionized data privacy and security, and how to outsource computation around untrusted clouds.
