Popular password management service LastPass said it’s investigating a second security incident that involved attackers accessing some of its customer information.
According to LastPass CEO Karim Toubba, “We recently discovered unusual activity within a third-party cloud storage service, which is currently shared by both LastPass and its affiliate, GoTo.” In October 2015, GoTo, formerly known as LogMeIn, purchased LastPass. The Boston-based company announced plans to spin off LastPass as a separate business in December 2021.

Through the use of data obtained from a prior breach in August 2022, an unauthorized third party was able to access “certain elements of our customers’ information” as a result of the digital intrusion.
