Cybersecurity researchers have produced a decryption tool that allows Lorenz ransomware victims to unlock their files for free and, most importantly, without having to pay attackers a ransom demand.
This is especially essential for Lorenz because faults in the ransomware’s code mean that some of the encrypted data can’t be recovered even if victims pay for the decryption key. However, after analyzing the malware, experts at Tesorion, a Dutch cybersecurity firm, discovered that they were able to create a decryption tool for the Lorenz ransomware, which is currently available for free via No More Ransom.
