US Cyber Security firm Malwarebytes says it was attacked by the same group that was behind the SolarWinds hack. The company said the intrusion was not related to the SolarWinds supply chain incident since it does not use any of the SolarWinds software in its internal network.
The security firm said the attackers breached its internal systems by exploiting a dormant email protection product in the Office 365 tenant.
Malwarebytes CEO Marcin Kleczynski says, “We can confirm the existence of another intrusion vector that works by abusing applications with privileged access to Microsoft Office 365 and Azure environments.”
