Microsoft announces its plan to acquire Silicon Valley startup CloudKnox. The company sells tools to help businesses secure and manage access to cloud accounts and data. The acquisition gives the tech giant an established vendor in the Cloud Infrastructure Entitlement Management (CIEM) category.
Since its launch in 2016, CloudKnox raised a total of US$22.8 million in venture capital investments. The financial terms of the deal are not yet disclosed. The CloudKnox deal marks Microsoft’s fourth cybersecurity acquisition over the past 12 months. It comes just weeks after Redmond announced plans to acquire threat-intelligence vendor RiskIQ.
