Redmond did not name the actor or equip IOCs to assist defenders in scrutinizing for indicators of compromise (IOCs), but the Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC) released mitigation advice and provided a CVE-2023-23397 script to aid in the audit and cleanup as a nod to the problem’s seriousness.
Microsoft also withered a second vulnerability — CVE-2023-24880 — for critical alert and cautioned attackers are persisting in overlooking its SmartScreen security feature vigorously.
