Microsoft has announced a new ransomware detection capability for Azure users that will give security teams notifications when the system detects activity that could be related to ransomware.
Azure partnered with the Microsoft Threat Intelligence Center to produce Fusion detection for ransomware, according to Microsoft’s Sylvie Liu in a blog post. Machine learning is used by Microsoft’s Fusion technology to detect potential attacks in progress and inform security teams.
When the system detects ransomware activity in the defense evasion and execution stages during a specified timeframe, it will transmit an alert. The system will deliver many notifications likely connected to Ransomware activity observed in the Azure Sentinel workplace, according to Liu.
