Microsoft has stopped the targeted attacks against policymakers, officials, and academicians who plan to attend two upcoming conferences, by Phosphorus, an Iranian group. the attendees. The organization’s Threat Intelligence Information Center had identified and intercepted the Iranian group’s attempts to illegally harvest the IDs of more than a hundred high-profile individuals. As per Microsoft, the hacker group posed falsely as the event organizers and initiated spoof invitation emails.

The emails intended to gather sensitive and personal emails from victims. No official information about any compromised data has been announced as Microsoft (previously aware of the potential attack) had warned the attendees about such attempts.
