Millions of Routers Exposed to RCE by USB Kernel Bug-01

The RCE error for high density is present in the KCodes NetUSB kernel module, used by popular routers from Netgear, TP-Link, DLink, Western Digital, exposing millions of popular end-user users to risk of using remote code (RCE).

The module enables remote devices to connect to routers via IP and access any USB devices (such as printers, speakers, webcams, flash drives and other peripherals) connected to it.

According to a Tuesday post from SentinelOne risk researcher Max Van Amerongen, attackers could remotely exploit the dangers of using the code on the kernel by using pre-security verification of overcrowding, which allows for device capture.
