Over time, more cybersecurity companies, including Mimecast and Qualys, confirmed being hit by the SolarWinds cyber hack. The SolarWinds hack involves a sophisticated supply chain attack affecting several users globally. Another cybersecurity firm, Fidelis Cybersecurity, also noted this hit; however, it is not clear if it was precisely targeted.
As per experts, the time where an incident may be related to the SolarWinds data breach, the theft of the record was indeed linked to SolarWinds software. The act was compromised and carried out by the same group of hackers.
The hackers accessed and exfiltrated specific encrypted service account credentials made by customers from the United Kingdom and the United States.
