According to a recent report released by Positive Technologies, ransomware attacks accounted for 34% of malware-based cyber-attacks during the first quarter of 2020. “The Cybersecurity Threatscape Report for Q1 2020” revealed that the most active ransomware attacks were ones that used Sodinokibi, Maze, and DoppelPaymer.
The report notes that government agencies were the worst hit by ransomware accounting for 21% of all such attacks. Science, finance, education, healthcare, and industrial companies were other industries heavily targeted by ransomware attacks.
