An exercise enabling smaller businesses to test their cyber resilience during remote working has been launched by the NCSC (National Cyber Security Center). Its Exercise in a Box toolkit aims at helping SMEs to mitigate the risk of data compromise while the remote working culture sets in.
The Exercise focused on three major areas: what services might be needed for secure employee collaboration, how staff members can safely access networks, and what processes are in place to manage the cyber-incidents remotely.
As part of the exercises, the staff members are given prompts for discussion about the technology and processes knowledge needed to strengthen their cybersecurity practices. In the end, an evaluative summary gets created, outlining the next steps and pointing out to the NCSC guidance.
