A recent report from Ontrack reveals 39% of companies either do not have a ransomware
emergency plan or are not aware if one exists. There has been a significant increase in the
number of ransomware cases following the lockdown because of COVID-19. As per the survey, 21% of organizations had experienced a ransomware attack, and of those, 26% admitted they couldn’t access any working backup after the attack.
Remote working has added a huge number of endpoints to companies that may not have been there previously. Moreover, several of them are considered shadow IT and have not been vetted by the employer.
