A North Korean hacking group identified to have targeted security researchers before now boosted its competition by creating a bogus offensive security firm.
The threat leads thought to be state-sponsored and supported by North Korea’s governing party, was initially documented by Google’s Threat Analysis Group (TAG) early in 2021.
Google said that to improve reliability and connect with security researchers, the actors produced a research blog and many Twitter profiles to get in touch with potential targets. Moreover, they used these Twitter profiles to publish links to their blog, post videos of their alleged exploits, and increase and retweet posts from different accounts that they control.
