As both nation-states and cybercriminals scale up their exploitation of virtual private networks (VPNs) amid a global trend to remote work and schools, the NSA and CISA have produced detailed guidance on how people and organizations should use VPNs.
The nine-page fact sheet also contains information on how to set up a VPN in a secure manner. According to the NSA, the guidance will be useful for officials in the Department of Defense, National Security Systems, and the Defense Industrial Base to better understand the hazards connected with VPNs.
