In a press release published on 3rd May, Okta, a publicly traded enterprise in the software and APIs domain, has announced that it acquired Auth0, a developer-focused platform for applications teams, at a price of $6.5 billion. First announced in March 2021, the Okta and Auth0 deal is a merger between two identity and access management companies.
Both enterprises will leverage their clout and experience in the enterprise and developer communities.
As of now, both the enterprises haven’t made any statement regarding integration plans. However, gradually they will be supported, invested, and integrated over time. Even after the acquisition by Okta, Auth0 will continue to operate as an independent unit.
