Palo Alto Networks announces a deal to acquire Expanse, an attack surface management vendor, for $800 million. According to the terms of the agreement, Palo Alto Networks will spend $670 million in cash & stock and $130 million in replacement equity awards.

Expanse helps companies understand and protect their attack surface. The proposed acquisition of Expanse will allow Palo Alto Networks to see their organization in the same way an attacker does when probing for points of weakness.
The acquisition is expected to close by January 31, 2021, and is subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.
